Purpose of Role: The Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for all duties related to Occupational and Primary Health Care for the facility in line with the business Occupational Health and Wellbeing strategy.

Responsible for managing and administering a comprehensive and effective occupational health surveillance programme to ensure physical, psychological and social well-being of employees.Monitoring the health status of employees through ongoing surveillance programmes and maintain all medical records.Responsible to ensure that risk-based medicals are completed. E.g., audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, biological monitoring etc.Managing injury on duty and emergency procedures and return to work process.Administration
Provide, manage and administer the primary health care and chronic disease management for the facility.Assist in the promotion, planning and coordination of wellness activities as per the company Wellness programme.Assess and manage disability cases.Assess and monitor return to work cases.Comply with statutory requirements and company policies and procedures.Prepare and manage all expenditure and monthly expenses in line with allocated budgets.Manage and control of stock and inventory of clinic equipment, medication and consumables.Compile month-end reports and statistics as required by the Health and Wellbeing Manager and Regional SHE Manager.Support and assist company employees with travel immunization.Maintain waste management programme for hazardous and biological wastes.Provide support and feedback to the Health and Wellbeing Manager and Regional SHE Manager on all related issues.Attend health and safety meetings as per schedule by the SHE departmentElectronic Data capturing / concise manual record keeping.Adhere to the Duty of Care Policy at all times.Inspection
Conduct inspections of canteen, ablutions and work environment.Conduct inspections of first aid boxes and replenish stock levels where required.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Qualifications: Grade 12, Diploma in General Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing, Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision Screening, Dispensing.Registrations: Registered with South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse and Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner, and with SASOHN as Audiometrist.5 years of experience in Occupational Health Clinic, including employee assistance and disability case management.Sound knowledge of statutory legislation, RMA experience.Provide professional indemnity proof (SASOHN).Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
