General responsibilities include providing medical care by taking vital signs, assessing the patients’ injury, illness, document findings, formulate and educate on treatment plans, and perform medical interventions within the RN scope of practice. The Registered Nurse initiates and supports timely patient flow in the collection and documentation of patient medical history, appropriate medical intervention including coordination of physician medical assessment, physical examination and occupational medical treatment. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following safety standards and procedures. Adheres to the highest standard of confidentiality and ensures that all communication and dialogue is handled in same manner. Maintains effective dialogue and communication with peers, leaders, and associates. Ensures that Health Services/Safety leadership remains apprised and updated on pertinent matters requiring their attention.
Key Responsibilities Daily interaction with employees who need health services. Provides nursing assessment and recommendations to Corning Employees related to the illness or injury resulting in an initial determination of occupational versus non-occupational injury or illness. Document and maintain records related to the treatment of Corning employees in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration or similar country/national governing regulations as well as ensuring privacy and confidentiality rules are enforced. Disability Process – Provide proper guidance through the disability process and interact with insurance carriers, Corning Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, and the Company Physician/Provider to facilitate processing of work-related illnesses or injuries. Ensure effective case management. Absence management- utilize Corning’s PIIM (post injury and illness management) program by working with Corning’s carrier (work or non-work related) to enable early safe return to work via appropriate and monitored work accommodations. Assist with tracking and managing FMLA requests based on medical information and company/legal protocol.Experiences/Education - Required Minimum 3+ years Registered Nurse Experience – Occupational Health Nursing a plus; Emergency room, Intensive Care Unit or Med/Surg nursing experience preferred. Current CPR Certification. Understanding how to prevent and manage occupational related injuries. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow Proven ability to work in a team environment. Self-directed and motivated. Demonstrated ability to maintain medical confidentiality. Ability to answer calls during off hours to manage emergency incidents. Timely and effectively communication as demonstrated through strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Exceptional customer service and time management skills. Good computer skills included Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Electronic Medical Record Experiences/Education - Desired Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN | COHN-S) Bachelor’s Degree in nursing Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Program Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Creative in promoting health and safety activities Prior Experience in fast-pace medical office, clinic or similar environment

The range for this position is $66,743.00 - $91,772.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
