The Role

Implements nursing activities for occupational health services and ensures compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Provides on-site nursing care for employee safety in the workplace; investigates accidents and inspects any health or safety hazards.

Ensures the implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.

Provides health and safety awareness information to promote overall employee health in the workplace.

Assists in initiating and coordinating patient care plans for a client company.

Accredited Registered Nurse (RN) degree, current state Registered Nurse (RN) license, and current CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)/First Aid certification

The delivery of comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury

Supports the delivery and creation of proactive wellness initiatives

Coordinates and provides on-site wellness exams

Actively engages with employees to build relationships

Oversees random drug testing program for customer audit requirements

What You Have – Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences:

Basic Qualifications:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse

3-5 years of progressively responsible job-related experience in occupational medicine or acute care

Must be well-organized and able to work autonomously within the scope of licensure level and limited direct supervision

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate fundamental leadership capacity

Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential

Top candidates will also have:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience with health and wellness promotion

Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to learn and manipulate various on-line databases, such as but not limited to Cority

Knowledge in various areas of occupational health and Human Resources, including but not limited to, OSHA compliance, ADA, EH&S, HR, ergonomics, health promotion, EMS, and/or education / training

Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Medical Record Keeping: Knowledge of the concepts, methods, tools and applications used in medical record management; ability to document, manage and maintain patient medical records following established processes and guidelines.
Level Extensive Experience:

Monitors the activities of medical record keeping to ensure compliance with legal requirements and security measures.

Creates a medical record system for the health facility to improve the efficiency of data retrieval and processing.

Designs quality assurance program for medical record keeping to ensure accuracy and completion of data.

Resolves operational issues regarding the transfer of medical records.

Coaches others on the proper use of medical record keeping applications.

Trains others on sharing medical records with other entities.


Clinical Leadership: Knowledge of key business and clinical leadership concepts relevant to the healthcare function; ability to balance business needs with the needs of patients' and patient care priorities.
Level Working Knowledge:

Gathers data to be used in the evaluation of treatments or technologies.

Administers treatments in a manner that improves clinical outcomes and reduces risk or cost.

Collects statistical information to be used in the evaluation of clinical and financial performance.

Monitors expenditures to ensure the department stays on budget.

Identifies potential changes that reduce costs without impacting the quality of patient care.

Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) Compliance: Knowledge of regulations and standards regarding the occupational safety and health of personnel working within an organization; ability to apply relevant regulations and standards to daily work activities.
Level Extensive Experience:

Oversees compliance with OSHS regulations in various work activities and environments.

Coaches more junior colleagues on OSHS guidelines that will affect their daily work activities.

Recommends preventive actions to handle potential risks that may occur in work procedures.

Provides insights to optimize the effectiveness of various occupational safety protection methods.

Coordinates all major regulatory issues regarding OSHS safety management.

Investigates and mitigates situations with potential regulatory implications when working with hazardous materials.

Additional Information:

Relocation to Fort Worth, TX is available

This is a 1st shift position with some on-call

This position may require less than 10% travel

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
