Occupational Health Nurse - Senior

In this position... 

This role will play a crucial part in ensuring a healthy and safe work environment. This role is responsible to stay informed of best practices in occupational health nursing, build a culture of health and provide valuable guidance and mentorship to nurses on the team. 

Responsibilities include assisting physicians in administering treatments, physical examinations, diagnostic tests and basic medical care functions with diligence, accuracy, and compliance with regulations. This role leads OSHA recordkeeping and ensures the staff maintain accurate and confidential medical data including employee health records, medical leave of absence, etc. to prepare reports and presentations in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.   The role supports the administration of company policies related to medical recordkeeping, employee health records, and medical leave of absence.

You'll have... 

Associate’s degree in nursing3+ years of experience in areas such as clinical occupational health nursing, urgent care, critical care, emergency room, or adult medical/surgical nursingBLS Certification Registered NurseUnrestricted state licensure in the state of practice

What you'll do...

Co-develop initiatives to improve patient care by collaborating with senior clinical professionals, cross-functional teams, and other healthcare providers. This includes implementing infection control measures, optimizing nursing workflows, and leveraging data analysis to identify trends and develop effective strategies.Participates in case management meetings to reduce the impact of absenteeism related to occupational or non-occupational injuries and illnesses.Responsible for departmental OSHA recordkeeping requirements related to medical records and ensuring that the medical staff understands the requirements of OSHA recordkeeping.Provide health services and administer surveillance evaluations to company employees, recording observations, assessments, and treatments in accordance with company policy.Perform routine nursing tasks associated with medical screenings, tests, and clinical procedures. Collect appropriates samples and specimens from patients and perform hearing and vision screening following clinical protocols.Monitor patient vitals, behaviors, and assists in medical emergencies that may occur on company premises such as accidents, injuries, sudden illnesses, etc. Follow established policies and procedures, identify roadblocks, and effectively communicate issues to the medical team’s attention.Provide patient-centered care with empathy, kindness, and professionalism. Communicate health screening results, communicate physical rehabilitation programs information to patients requiring treatment, and assist with medication administration while managing medication protocols. Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with regulatory developments and infection control protocols. Assists in conducting local training.Support emergency procedures preparation and adherence to infection control practices.Maintain an understanding of all relevant regulatory developments defining patient privacy and medical record confidentiality, infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, accreditation Standards, etc.

Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required.
