**Overview**
The Occupational Health and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the business strategy of the Global Health and Safety programs for our York Pennsylvania Facility in support of all employees. The Occupational Health and Safety Manager, Partners with Plant management HC&I Business unit and the Corporate EHS team, through the execution of the following key responsibilities:
**Responsibilities**
+ Partner with site management in executing Occupational Health & Safety priorities, metrics, goals and requirements.
+ Establish and enhance site Occupational Health & Safety programs that support global Occupational Health & Safety initiatives & expectations.
+ Provide Occupational Health & Safety technical guidance and support to site management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Keep management apprised of Occupational Health & Safety progress and significant developments on key site projects.
+ Evaluate facility Occupational Health & Safety conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and internal policy/protocol.
+ Manage all Occupational Health & Safety aspects (technical, regulatory/third party interface, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.) of site projects and manage site Occupational Health & Safety permits in compliance with relevant regulatory programs and corporate policies.
+ Develop, track and manage facility Occupational Health & Safety budgets.
+ Ensure appropriate use of Occupational Health & Safety consultants and legal counsel on site projects and coordinate efforts with global EHS staff and other site EHS professionals as required.
+ Ensure robust pipeline and process for VPP/Global Star/H&S/Environmental excellence certifications and recognition.
+ Lead investigations in responding to significant incidents and government requests/notices.
+ Interface with Occupational Health & Safety regulatory agencies as needed.
+ Drive communication and involvement to develop continuous improvement plans.
+ Analyze and communicate site Occupational Health & Safety performance against expectations, provide feedback, establish and track required actions to improve performance.
+ Provide leadership & support for training programs to build Occupational Health & Safety technical, management and leadership skills of site leadership team and employees.
+ Performs all job duties in a safe manner and obeys all safety policies and procedures.
+ Support all third party Loss Prevention Audits and track recommendations to closure.
+ Support all tasks associated with the Graham Operating System (GOS).
+ Spend a majority of time on the plant floor leading employee engagement on all safety practice, driving safety best practices and identifying and leading improvements needed.
+ Performs other duties and cross training as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor of Science from an accredited higher learning institution in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or other related technical or scientific discipline
+ 5+ years experience in managing Occupational Health and Safety programs
+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
+ Experience with computer systems, internet, email and Microsoft applications
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
+ Must be highly organized and demonstrate excellent judgment, decision and discretion abilities
+ Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Must possess excellent leadership, program and project management skill
+ Ability to travel as necessary
+ Ability to influence others outside of your direct control.
+ Flexibility to work non-traditional business hours as needed. Our locations operate 24/7 and the ideal candidate will have the occasional need to be in the facility during non-traditional business hours.
**Compensation Statement**
The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
