Strategy and Planning
Develops and implements safety plans to close any potential gaps in the controls With the Executive Director, Safety, Security and Business Resiliency, develops effective working relationships and documented safety plans in conjunction with all functional business areas to develop and maintain a corporate wide safety program that addresses business recovery and emergency response management Partners with Senior Management and Operations through the facilitation of safety risk assessments Collects, trends and reports key metrics for measuring Occupational Health and Safety Provides advice and services to managers and employees on questions related to the interpretation and application of policies, programs, and procedures within their expertise Mobilizes and empowers managers and employees at the level of good practices in health and safety Ensures compliance with the rules, standards based on the legislation and practice of the company health and safety Responsible for investigation of incidents and/or accidents as well as preventive audits and inspections Identifies training needs in health and safety in each site and support needs as they are raised by local request Leads the Health and Safety Committees at their respective site, provides global guidance for sites that do not have onsite Occupational Health and Safety support Ensures the supply and control of Occupational Health and Safety equipment as identified by regulation, best practice, or Syneos Health PolicyQualifications
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Administrative/Business Management or a Health and Safety specific degree. Strong understanding and experience in Occupational Health and Safety Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and a track record of leading a range of tasks and issues simultaneously to a positive outcome and on time Strong ability to ascertain and understand all relevant facts and business processes to support analysis of issues Excellent proficiency with MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint Self-starter with the ability to work with a great degree of autonomy Ability to remain calm during a crisis event Requires robust knowledge of leading practices in Occupational Health and Safety. Requires strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and requires robust knowledge of leading practices in policies, procedures, and real world Health and Safety implementation.Get to know Syneos Health
