Occupational Health Technician I - Marietta Occupational Health Partners - FT 1.0 (80 hrs biweekly)

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Occupational Health Technician I is responsible for providing a full service of patient registration and other basic patient care responsibilities in Occupational Health Partners.  Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

 

Job Functions:

Provides general information and direction acting in a timely manner. Registers patients and reviews documentation provided by patient. Maintains inventory of supplies and education material. Ensures that the department is neat, orderly and in safe condition. Maintains equipment and instruments in specific circumstances. Maintains and documents in patient records. Prepares patient for physical exam, i.e. removal of necessary clothing according to exam, review questionnaires to gather details for the medical provider, clarifying any other instructions for the patient. Assists with admission and discharge of patients including, but not limited to, measuring patient’s height, weight, vital signs, etc. Prepares patients for and obtain electrocardiograms according to established procedures. Performs vision screenings. Performs respirator fit testing. Provide appropriate health education to patients as directed by medical provider. Under the direction of the medical provider, provides specialized clinical services to clients outlined below: Administers injections (After training is acquired) Administers and reads PPDs (After training is acquired) Completes urine drug screens (After training is acquired) Completes breath alcohol testing (After training is acquired) Performs audio screenings (After training is acquired) Performs pulmonary function testing (After training is acquired) Performs phlebotomy (After training is acquired) Performs diversified duties regarding pre-placement physical examinations. Promotes a continuous quality improvement effort to enhance services provided to patients and their families while observing health and safety requirements. Cooperates with the applicable emergency treating provider to ensure the plans of care and rehabilitation for the injured employee to return to work are completed. Participates in on-call rotation for post-accident screening services. (After training is acquired) Provides assistance to other departmental personnel. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
