Provides occupational therapy services to patients ranging from the very young to the elderly who may have physical, medical and/or psychological disorders and who may be receiving services on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Therapists are responsible for evaluating patient needs, establishing treatment plans and providing treatments/services accordingly. In collaboration with the COTA, works with patients on an individual basis using current technology treatment techniques and modalities consistent with department and hospital policies. Responsible for developing and facilitating specialized treatment programs as appropriate to meet patient needs. Patients of all ages served. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.

Pediatric background required. NICU background preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy and successful completion of clinical training required. Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy obtained within 6 months. Registered through the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Occupational Therapist or Temporary Occupational Therapist permit required with Occupational Therapist license obtained within 90 Days. Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card per established policy.
