Occupational Therapist II - Towson Geriatric (Day Shift)

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will:

Perform a full range of occupational therapy services according to professional standards.  Screen patients/students, provide functional assessments, develop goals and modalities for treatment plans, provide direct services for individuals and groups for assigned caseload.  Communicate with patients/students based on an understanding of their developmental needs. Document and report patient/student progress to treatment/educational team.  Participate in program evaluation.  Utilize experience in program development for specialized patient population(s) and by representing professional discipline on committees as assigned.  Assist in training, orienting, and evaluating the performance of occupational therapy interns and volunteers.  May provide orientation and professional direction to newly hired Occupational Therapists.

Requires:

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university. Current license to practice as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.  Must maintain professional knowledge and skills through attendance at professional meetings, workshops, courses, and in-service sessions.  Work requires current knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice in the field of psychosocial and physical dysfunction and basic computer usage skills obtained through academic and clinical internship requirements of a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university. Two to three years of progressively more responsible work experience in order to identify and meet treatment program needs of varying special patient/student populations, and possess a highly developed sense of the professional scope and parameters of occupational therapy practice.  Experience as a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant may be considered, if applicable. Positions on inpatient units may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to facilitate programming.
