Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Position Purpose

This position is accountable for providing quality Occupational Therapy services at Renown Health under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor, Manager and; ultimately, the Director of Rehabilitation Therapies. This individual provides comprehensive occupational therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in acute inpatient, post-acute Rehabilitation, Home Care, Skilled Nursing, and/or Hospice settings; including their families/caregivers. Services include, but are not limited to comprehensive evaluation and treatment of self-care activities, ADL skills, and community reintegration.

Nature and Scope

This position provides direct patient care , provides input to the interdisciplinary team regarding ongoing patient care, as well as comprehensive discharge planning. Therapist is expected to provide services interchangeably among like facilities. For example, acute care staff may float between inpatient hospital settings, while post-acute staff may provide services within various post-acute facility settings based upon census and business needs.

The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and families. This position conducts evaluations, develops appropriate plan of care, and provides occupational therapy services through time of discharge. At times, this position may be asked to participate in program development and outcome measurements in the clinical setting.

This position does provide patient care.

Description

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Recent graduates who have applied for the registration examination may be considered for provisional appointment.

Experience:

Applicants with physical disabilities experience, specialty certification or experience in one or more specialty areas are preferred.

License(s):

Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Occupational Therapy License.

Home Health 205351 - Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicles Report criteria and current automobile insurance for department.

Certification(s):

Current CPR certification by The American Heart Association standards. AOTA Geriatric Certified Specialty certification preferred for Skilled Nursing, Home Care, and/or Hospice therapists.

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
