Position Requirements
Provides professional patient care in occupational therapy, including evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting treatment for patients based on physician prescriptions and patient needs. Designs and directs rehabilitative activities to aid in patient recovery. Collaborates with and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA/OTA) in treatment procedures. Ensures all documentation and billing are completed accurately and promptly, adhering to the standards of the rehabilitation department, Joint Commission, State Practice Acts, and the American Occupational Therapy Association.Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program. For U.S. graduates: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree if graduated before 1/1/2002; a Master’s degree is required if graduated after 1/1/2002. For International graduates: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution; a Master’s degree is preferred. Must hold or be eligible for an Occupational Therapy license in the state where services will be provided within the first 90 days of employment. CPR certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Must maintain all certifications and licensure by their expiration dates.Preferred Qualifications:
Membership with the American Occupational Therapy Association.Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license required if assigned to drive a company vehicle. Proof of insurance is also required if driving a personal vehicle. Work experience preferred but not required, aside from clinical experience within an educational training program. Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently and assist with 100 pounds. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to work at other locations as assigned.
