Our comprehensive multi-disciplinary team pride our selves on our ability to work both with enduring mental illness but also those who struggle with regulating emotions, acts of impulsivity and managing relationships.
The hospital is set in picturesque grounds overlooking the Surrey Hills and has extensive facilities including onsite Gym, Purpose Built OT Kitchen as well as Occupational Facilities. You will also have free access to the onsite gym facilities.
As a member of the team, you will be encouraged to let your creative side flow, positively contributing to the sites success. You will also have free access to the onsite gym facilities.
Job Advert Role Description
Responsibilities: To work as part of the OT team providing activities, facilitating leave, therapeutic groups, 1:1 interventions and other recreational activities; observing recording and reporting patient responses Assist with the reception, orientation and induction of new patients, ensuring they are comfortable and familiar with the environment and to impart essential information regarding emergency procedure. Ensure the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records, case files and computerised information systems as directed Contribute to surveys, audits and clinical research projects assisting with the collection analysis and presentation of data and information as directed. Support the OT in successfully meeting the unit objectives. Also increasing the quality of service to attract potential new service users. To support and encourage patients to care for their personal belongings, personal space, and immediate environment. To work with patients in the making of beds, attending to personal laundry, and completing personal hygiene tasks To complete tasks relating to environmental management of OT areas as directed by the OT professional Lead Skills & Knowledge: Ability to empathise with patients Excellent verbal and written communication skills Listening skills De-escalation & diversion skills
Experience: Six month’s experience in a caring environment is preferred but not essential Experience of working with people who have mental health problems or a learning disability is preferred. Some experience of engaging others in group activities is desirable
