Occupational Therapy Assistant II - Inpatient - Part Time
The Occupational Therapy Assistant II, under the supervision of an occupational therapist, participates in rehabilitative programs that facilitate return to optimal functional abilities, improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury, including patient and family education. This position carries out established care plans through the use of evidence-based modalities and skilled interventions to increase patients' ability to achieve mutually established functional goals. The Occupational Therapy Assistant II monitors progress related to the plan of care as established by the occupational therapist. This role is responsible for optimizing patients? functional abilities and helping them regain independence in their daily lives.

Completes patient treatments, tests and measures, and documentation/charging.
Implements established therapy plans by selecting and performing appropriate treatment interventions to achieve patient goals.
Progresses patient within designated treatment plan to achieve goals. Performs individualized treatment related to patient?s condition, addressing special needs and behaviors including assessments of range of motion, strength, mobility, coordination, transfers, activities of daily living such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene, and cognitive and perceptual deficits.
Follows the treatment plan established by the occupational therapists and consults as necessary regarding goals set in coordination with the physician, the patient and the family.
Completes documentation including evaluations, daily notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, or monthly reports as required.
Collaborates on teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy
EXPERIENCE:Required: 3 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Certification from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
