Occupational Therapy Assistant - OTA, Per Diem
Job Description Summary: Looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our acute rehab unit therapy team. Join an experienced rehab team working intensively with patients to facilitate their recovery. We are a Stroke Rehabilitation Certified program located in our beautiful inpatient unit at The Alfond Center for Health. If you are looking to work on a true interdisciplinary team, with a variety of patient diagnosis, in the hospital setting, this is it!

Job Description:

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, this position provides occupational therapy services within an assigned area to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills, activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.

The Work:

Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the therapist.Documents services provided and patient response/progress.Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

You Have:

Registered as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.

Maine State Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.
