Touro University’s School of Health Sciences Occupational Therapy program is hiring an OTD Capstone Director for the new Entry-Level OTD program. The Capstone Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the capstone experience (CE), and the capstone project (CP) in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) standards. Additional duties include teaching the assigned course load, student advisement, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities Supervise and mentor professional development of OTD faculty and staff.Participate in the development of various OTD capstone materials including course, syllabi, policies, procedures, and handbooks, which assure effective capstone experiences that meet the needs of OTD students, program goals, and accreditation standards.Act as an intermediary between students, the OTD faculty advisor, and the community partner mentor.Establish community partnerships for capstone experiences.Oversee the establishment of new, and/or review, revise, update current memorandums of understanding between Touro University and community partners for the capstone experience.Review all proposals for capstone projects.Maintain knowledge of student progress and performance in capstone courses and while on his/her capstone experience.Build collaborative partnership opportunities across and among various entities including OTD students, OTD faculty advisors, and Community Partner mentors to ensure high-quality, meaningful capstone projects that advance the profession and meet the individual goals of students.Assist program chairperson with maintaining ACOTE accreditation and program evaluation.Participate in curriculum review and modification for the OTD.Teach a reduced credit load.Participate in scholarly activities and mentorship of students in research.Participate in leadership and/or service to the community and university. Qualifications

Education/ Experience

Doctoral degree in a related field awarded by an institution that holds a regional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.Occupational Therapist professional license in Occupational Therapy from New York State Department of Education Office or Professional Licensing.Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy including experience in a full-time academic appointment with supervisory and teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level.Experience with capstone mentorship and/or capstone coordination preferred.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

Strong leadership, supervisory, and management skills.Strong record of scholarship and publication

Travel

Travel between Long Island, NYC, and other campuses required.Travel to capstone sites as needed. Maximum Salary USD $120,000.00/Yr. Minimum Salary USD $96,000.00/Yr.
