Job Description

Scope of Position

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service for the Ocean Department in Savannah, GA.  This is not a remote position.  All candidates are subject to a background check.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Operations/Industry KnowledgeCustomer ServiceVendor RelationsProcedure and Productivity Standards AdherenceAccountingAccurate and Timely BillingEnsure smooth and timely freight process flowEnsure accurate and timely data entry into our operational systemTrack and Trace Ocean Files and managing reportMeet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulationsUnderstand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivityEnsure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPsOverseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)Escalation of problems to Management when necessary

QualificationsPreferred 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Accepting applications from recent college graduatesUnderstanding of ocean documentation process is a plusEffective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsPro-active, strong organizational skillsGood computer skills (Microsoft 365 Products)Attention to DetailFluent in English
