Gundersen Health System is recruiting for a full-time optometrist based at the Gundersen Eye Clinic in Decorah, IA. This outstanding opportunity will join one other OD in this busy practice. This established practice has an emphasis on primary care, including geriatrics, contact lenses, ocular disease diagnosis and management. Technology includes Epic, imaging data software with telehealth capabilities, and all of the ancillary equipment necessary to deliver uncompromised care close to home. Support staff, including: refracting ophthalmic assistants, ophthalmic technicians and ABO certified opticians , and optical retail allow the provider to focus on delivering efficient, quality eye care.
This salaried position includes 10 days continuing education with generous CME allowance, 22 days vacation, sabbatical time after 7 years, relocation expenses and strong retirement plan with matching contributions. Clinic work schedule is Monday-Friday with no call and no weekends or evenings.
The Eye Department at Gundersen Health System consists of board-certified ophthalmologists and optometrists working as a unified team to deliver uncompromised quality care. Eye Clinics are located in 13 locations within our WI, MN and IA service area. Decorah is located in the beautiful Driftless area of NE Iowa and known for world class scenery and outdoor activities. Decorah is also home to Luther College and a nationally ranked educational system. This is a tremendous opportunity for both new grad or seasoned clinician.
Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all clinicians.
