In this position, you will strive to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective mail services that meet the needs of the College’s students, faculty, and staff. This includes processing all incoming and outgoing mail in a timely, reliable, and confidential manner. You will be responsible for providing courteous, efficient, and accurate customer service to all faculty, staff, and students. You will adopt cost-effective measures where appropriate and adhere to policies and procedures established by the United States Postal Service. Quick Link for Postings https://jobs.geneseo.edu/postings/5180 Job Duties/Responsibilities Job Duties/Responsibilities Job Duty/Responsibility Function 1: Handle and Process Incoming Student Packages + Receive, assign and distribute all student packages with SQBX mail package tracking software + Utilize SQBX software to validate parcel packages as they are received, assign those packages to students, send email notifications to the students, and create an internal barcode for tracking and electronically verifying student signatures upon release of the packages to them + Perform searches on tracking numbers and student names. + Regularly sort, store and retrieve student packages using alphabetical shelving and parcel lockers. Percentage Of Time 35% Job Duty/Responsibility Function 2: Handle and Process Incoming Mail + Receive, sort, and distribute all incoming mail from USPS , UPS , Fed-Ex, DHL and on-campus mail to faculty, staff and students. + Sort faculty and staff mail by department + Operate mail van for delivery and pick-up of faculty and staff mail on campus. + Student mail will be sorted and then put into 5,000+ individual mailboxes. Percentage Of Time 15% Job Duty/Responsibility Function 4: Handle and Process Outgoing Mail + Process all outgoing faculty and staff mail using a digital mail meter as a backup for the Office Assistant 2 and Mail Services Supervisor as necessary. + Delivery outgoing mail daily to the Geneseo Post Office.
