The Department of Mental Health is seeking to hire a student intern who will support the Housing Department of DMH Central Area. The student will assist the Central Area Housing Coordinator with data collection, organization, and tracking tools for local housing resources.
This internship opportunity is for an undergraduate student who is currently enrolled in program at an accredited College or University. Familiarity with data systems and Excel spreadsheets required.
Internship Duties and Activities:
Assist the DMH Central Area, (CMA), in assessing and updating housing resources and data for the following:
Massachusetts Facilities Consolidation Fund (FCF) – Current units and vacancies in CMA and updates for pending projects.MassHousing Set Aside Program – Current units Occupied/ Units owed to the Department.DMH Rental Subsidy Program:
Assist the Area Housing Coordinator with the implementation of new Excel housing tracking system for DMH Rental SubsidiesProvide assistance to providers in adding transferring data to the newer formAttend training sessions to implement the new processAssist with updates for program participants to ensure application for mainstream housing resourcesAdditional Duties
Attend bi-weekly and monthly Statewide Housing Meetings.Attend statewide trainings sponsored by the department for housing resources.Attend Central Area Continuum of Care Meeting.Participate in Monthly Provider housing meetings.Attend Area meetings as scheduled.Assist with front desk coveragePreferred Qualifications
A customer service focused individual with interest in mental health and human services.
An understanding of HIPAA
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.
Period of Service:
May 27, 2025 through August 29, 2025
Additional Information:
Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.
All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.
The salary for this position is$19.00an hour.
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
