Office Coordinator, Adv Wound
Job Summary The Office Coordinator is responsible for the smooth and effective operations of the clerical, charge entry, admission/registration, patient scheduling, and benefits verification aspects of the Advanced Wound Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned. + Perform routine clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, filing, copying, and typing + Greet patients and perform check-in/check-out and registration procedures for patients in a positive, professional manner + Perform regular data entry and reconcile the various systems to ensure timely completion of the medical record + Verify insurance coverage benefits and advise all patients of the therapy, tests, and visits + Obtain approval for additional visits prior to the last approved visit + Send superbills, daily schedules, and dictation reports to the physician offices weekly, as required + Maintain a current list of insurance participation for each physician + Arrange for physician ordered diagnostic, interventional procedures, and patient transportation, as required + Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services + Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care Supervisory Responsibilities Reports to: HBO Wound Care Manager Supervises: None Responsibilities: N/A Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: Associates Degree in Business Administration/Systems Experience: One (1) or more years’ prior experience as an Office Manager, Medical Coding Specialist, or Front Office in a health care facility is preferred.
