Summary
Since 1899, the Levindale Auxiliary has been a vital service organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of the elderly and disabled at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. The Auxiliary is committed to helping to humanize institutional care. Members go beyond the scope of the excellent medical services provided and address the emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of residents, patients and clients. They provide funding to promote companionship, cultural stimulation and mechanisms, which enable the elderly to maintain their dignity and quality of life.
The Levindale Auxiliary has members from the community who support its mission through membership dues, the Life Membership Program, contribution cards and fundraising events. They support the residents, patients and clients of Levindale.
JOB SUMMARY:
Manage day-to-day Levindale Auxiliary Office operations. Coordinate ‘Vendor Sales’ to benefit the Levindale Auxiliary. Aide Levindale Auxiliary Board Committees in monthly and annual fundraising activities. Act as liaison between Levindale Auxiliary and the community. Partner with Staff and Board to maintain sufficient and effective operation of the office. Plan, schedule, manage, and coordinate Vendor sales throughout the year. Establish and maintain departmental files, records, and equipment. Maintain appropriate inventories of office supplies. Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries. Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, arrange meetings and conferences. Assist and maintain Budget Preparation and Reconciliation. Supply Accountant with end-of-fiscal-year (July 1-June 30) agendas, minutes, budget and reconciled bank statements for each year. Type, format, and proofread a variety of materials. Take ‘Minutes’ at our monthly Auxiliary Board meetings. Collect information, compile data and prepare statistical reports using appropriate software. Maintain and interpret data to develop and prepare correspondence, reports and presentations. Maintain billing system.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college). Position is approximately 20 hours per week. Familiarity and comfort with Judaism, Jewish holidays, and Jewish Life. Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and basic computer skills. Experience with Quickbooks. Experience with standard office equipment - printer, copy machine, scanner. Critical thinking skills.
