Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Greets and interacts with patients, providers, co-workers, and families in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
+ Maintains patient confidentiality, respect and HIPAA guidelines at all times.
+ Accurately schedules appointments within each provider schedule based on availability and need for appointment as assigned. Confirms upcoming appointments with correct date, time and location. Reviews insurance needs with patients while scheduling appointment.
+ Utilizes protocols to scan all paper-based medical record information in a timely manner into the electronic medical record. Effectively labels documents within the electronic record. Assigns documents to appropriate providers for review as needed.
+ As assigned, responsible for maintaining and responding to electronic bucket requests from providers and staff. Bucket requests can include scheduling changes, physician requests, and patient recall letters.
+ Tracks and follows up on all telephone encounters coming into the appointment coordinator/medical record buckets with the electronic medical record when assigned.
+ Updates patient information including demographics, insurance updates, confidentiality authorizations and making necessary changes and revisions as needed when interacting with patients or representatives.
+ Creates electronic medical record for all new and established patients as assigned.
+ Performs all front-office duties as assigned to include but not limited to: Check in/out of patients, collecting co-pays and notifying patients of payments/balances.
+ Enters daily cash received and runs end of day sheet to go to Clerical Supervisor for cash deposits.
+ Prepares, faxes, copies and packages medical records copies, disability forms and other correspondence issues requested by patient, provider offices, legal counsel, or hospital daily, once written request for records is received and reviewed.
+ Answers incoming phone calls professionally and in a timely fashion.
**Scheduled Hours:** 40 hr/wk, M - F
**Work Shift:** 8am - 430pm
**Education Required:** High School Diploma or equivalent required.
**Experience:** Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Medical Office administration and/or medical records experience preferred.
