As a Summer Intern focused on Office Management and Administrative Support at Parsons' Aberdeen Proving Ground facility, you will provide essential administrative assistance to senior leaders and support the overall operations of the office. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our team. Additionally, you will shadow and support the Senior Administrator, gaining insights into high-level administrative functions and leadership.
What you will be doing:
Administrative Support: Prepare presentations, process expense reports, and provide routine administrative support to senior leaders.Reception and Customer Service: Perform basic and routine functions such as providing reception and customer service for the Parsons’ Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) facility.Meeting Coordination: Schedule meetings and support the execution of meetings and events, including managing visitor access, preparing materials for meetings, and arranging meals.Calendar Management: Establish and maintain a calendar of events and schedule conference rooms.Office Supplies Management: Manage and account for office supplies and small purchases. Stock supplies and food as needed within the facility and kitchen areas.Shipping and Receiving: Ship and receive supplies and equipment, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.Professionalism: Demonstrate strong professionalism, tact, and maturity using strong interpersonal and soft skills, and office etiquette to present a professional "front office" demeanor at all times.Communication and Collaboration: Exhibit strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Foster office unity and cohesiveness in support of completing administrative requirements.MS Office Proficiency: Utilize MS Office software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook: Mail, Calendar, and MS Teams) to efficiently complete office administrative tasks.IT Equipment Operation: Operate office information technology (IT) equipment (e.g., copiers, scanners, computer workstations, phones, teleconference/video teleconference equipment) independently to complete administrative tasks.Self-Starter: Demonstrate the ability to self-start, set priorities, and work both independently and within a team environment under deadlines.Shadowing and Support: Shadow and support the Senior Administrator, gaining insights into high-level administrative functions and leadership.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Incumbent must be enrolled in Business Administration (or related) curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed typically 1+ year of studies.Technical Skills-Proficiency in MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook: Mail, Calendar, and MS Teams).Strong working knowledge of office IT equipment (copiers, scanners, computer workstations, phones, teleconference/video teleconference equipment).Professional Skills-Strong written and oral communication skills.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Ability to demonstrate professionalism, tact, and maturity.Collaboration- Strong collaboration skills that foster office unity and cohesiveness.Self-Motivation- Ability to self-start, set priorities, and work independently and within a team environment under deadlines.Why Join Us?
