Summary About the Position: Position is located at White Sands Missile Range, Commanding General, G3 with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, NM. White Sands Missile Range, NM. The Range provides Army, Navy, Air Force, DoD, and other customers with high quality services for experimentation, test, research, assessment, development, and training in support of the Nation. (MERIT). Responsibilities Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating the administrative aspects and functions of the Director and his/her staff, and provides general administrative support to the subordinate staff. Control all incoming and outgoing correspondence. Serve as an Administrative/Management Assistant performing a wide variety of work assignments within the Office of the Director. Provide guidance on the interpretation and implementation of directives and instructions pertaining to correspondence preparation, file maintenance, and staffing procedures. Independently composes a wide variety of correspondence and recurring and special reports based on a working knowledge of WSMR policies. Use software program, applications and function commands to create, modify, and manipulate text to accomplish formats, statistical material, correspondence, reports, etc Assist with studies/special projects regarding organizational administrative directives, policies, functions, and operations Advise organizational personnel on internal and headquarters administrative and correspondence policies and procedures. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience reviewing and/or formatting government memorandums/documents; and (2) experience providing guidance and/or assistance with administrative matters such as utilizing ATAAPS (timekeeping), PERSTAT reporting, key control, training, file management (Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS), and report preparation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NK-01/GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
