Job Summary

The Office Manager is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care, on a continuing basis, for the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Adhere to Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers Must exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to others in adherence of the hospital's philosophy and policy for promoting  positive workplace and customer environments Work as a team to continuously improve work quality Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients

Summary of Other Job Duties and Expectations

Coach the Clerical Staff to improve and maintain productivity levels May assist with interviewing and giving performance appraisals of all clerical staff. Assist with work schedules and task assignments for all clerical staff. Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and procedures for the clerical area. Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to appropriate personnel Maintain necessary inventory of supplies Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor. Present self in a positive manner, as reflected by personal attire and etiquette Demonstrates commitment to flexibility in schedule when necessary to ensure patient care. Utilize all assigned functions of the Radiology Information Computer System Assist in providing a variety of management reports for assigned work areas on an as needed basis

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Courses in Medical Terminology

Experience: 2+ years supervisory experience, plus experience with information systems
