Position Overview:
Essential Role: Ensures clinical quality, service quality and assist Clinic Director with budget constraints to make sure they are maintained in accordance with organizational goals and objectives. Ensures clinic flow is established by serving as a liaison between provider needs and clinical resources. Provides leadership and manages support staff for medical clinics. Provide professional services that complement the provider’s role of delivering primary health care services at South Central Clinics.
Reporting Relationships: The Clinic Manager reports directly to the Clinic Director. Supervisory Relationships: The Clinic Manager oversees the supervision of the following positions: Clerical, Nurse Practitioners, RN, LPN, MA and lab positions. Acts as a resource-point for all medical clinic personnel by; managing and guiding, supervising and suggesting based on established policies and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities: Supervisory 1. Works with medical clinic employees to ensure that each employee understands their job description, the desired results associated with their work, and the resources available to achieve the results. 2. Interviews and makes decisions for hiring employees for open positions with guidance from the Clinic Director. 3. Trains and develops medical clinic staff with ongoing direction from the Clinic Director to ensure they are capable of performing their duties. 4. Plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems with the guidance of the Clinic Director. 5. Ensures at all times the department consistently operates in a high quality manner. 6. Tracks time & attendance and scheduling and coordinating of staff for all leaves to include but not limited to; ETO requests and FMLA, in accordance with policies and procedures. 7. Supervises students for internships/externships and delegates authority and responsibility when and where need is indicated. 8. Leads staff meetings. 9. Supervises, as required, the staff in the conduct of clinical care. Provides consistent weekly communication to the Clinic Director, ensuring that information, reports, and materials are provided, to clearly describe clinic activities and progress toward agreed upon objectives.
Administrative 1. Assist the Clinic Director with implementation of Health System, emergency preparedness, infection control and regulatory compliance for the medical clinic. 2. Oversees medical supply inventory. 3. Represents South Central Clinics at functions as requested. 4. Attends all staff or other special meetings as requested. 5. Participates in budget development as it pertains to the medical clinic Clinical 1. Provides consistent weekly communication to the Clinic Director, ensuring that information, reports, and materials are provided, to clearly describe clinic activities and progress toward agreed upon objectives 2. Oversees provided evaluation, treatment and consultation services to patients of the clinic. 3. Collaborates with providers and Clinic Director to establish policies and procedures for medical clinic operations. 4. Available to staff always and to respond to emergencies and answer questions. 5. Obtains and documents (or causes to be obtained and documented); appropriate chief complaint, past medical, family and social history, review of systems, examinations, medications and allergies, and assessment and plan for each patient. 6. Oversees provided medical orders for prescription refills, administration of medications, ancillary testing, and/or referrals. 7. Oversees patient education as needed. 8. Available to patients, through clinical staff to answer questions and relay information regarding their care. 9. Oversees medical recommendations for patient care when necessary. 10. Completes appropriate paperwork to comply with insurance and reimbursement guidelines. 11. Completes all documentation and paperwork within time constraints posed by various entities. 12. Ensures compliance with standards, laws and regulations as directed by regulatory and accrediting organizations such as but not limited to: DNV, CLIA, State and Federal Governments as it pertains to the medical clinic. 13. Performs other appropriate duties as requested by Clinic Director. 14. May be called to Chaperon and assists providers during exams and procedures, perform CLIA waived lab tests, perform direct patient care within the limits of his/her training and capabilities when the provider is unavailable. 15. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Performance Requirements: 1. Courteous, honest and professional always. 2. Able to communicate and relate well with physicians and other clinical staff. 3. Able to provide innovative input into the development of the office and its processes. 4. Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding CME requirements. 5. Efficient, organized and accurate.
Education and Experience: 1. College degree in business or health related preferred 2. CPR certification required (must be obtained within 30 days of employment). 3. Three or more years’ proven supervisor experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous medical office experience strongly preferred. Must have an understanding of ethics of confidentiality. 4 year degree 5 years healthcare experience. Minimum Requirements: Previous computer experience required. Must be able to read, write, understand written and verbal communication. Working Conditions: Medical office environment. Multi-task-oriented position including direct patient care may require sitting or standing for long periods. Some bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50lbs). Must interact with physicians, patients and other office personnel. Must possess socio-economic and cultural sensitivity. May involve contact with angry, upset or ill persons. Will involve potential exposure to blood and body fluids and other hazardous substances. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to assist with procedures, perform and interpret lab results, and interface with computer. Must have auditory acuity to handle phone calls and extensive patient interaction.
