This position exists to provide analysis and advice on crash and other data related to traffic safety so that the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) can make the best possible decision on the target markets to reach and the strategies likely to be effective with them. Overall, this position will work to improve the OTS problem identification and program delivery efforts through the implementation of appropriate statistical techniques and research into the databases using programming skill and to provide information on traffic crashes in Minnesota to a wide range of stakeholders. **Minimum Qualifications** 1. Two* years of research experience collecting, analyzing, evaluating, synthesizing, and organizing information in databases. 2. Proficiency in statistics and statistical methods, their applications and limitation, sufficient to select and use procedures appropriate to problems and to interpret results. 3. Experience using Microsoft Office programs, statistical reporting packages such as SPSS, SAS, and business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Looker Studio. 4. Communication skills sufficient to write reports and conduct oral presentations for technical and nontechnical audiences. 5. Proficiency in graphically presenting data for easy understanding by various audiences utilizing programs such as Excel, R, SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Looker Studio. 6. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities. *A bachelor's degree or higher may substitute one year of experience. **Preferred Qualifications** 1. Bachelor's degree or higher with statistical coursework 2. Knowledge of traffic safety issues and national emphasis areas **Physical Requirements** Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools.
