HDR is currently in need of aOffice Principalfor ourSan Diego office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who desires to lead an office for a nationally recognized firm. The primary responsibility of the Office Principal is for strategic vision, leadership, inspiration, quality assurance, and profitability of the office to ensure the annual plan is implemented.

Primary Responsibilities

To achieve success, the Office Principal will work directly with the business groups leadership to develop relationships with target clients and pursue new projects in the region. The pursuit of new work will be in a collaborative manner with local technical leaders and national experts as required. This individual will oversee and direct the activities of personnel within the office including implementing annual plans, marketing strategies, public relations, project planning, financial planning and management, staff planning and oversight and other related matters. This position will be responsible for establishing local office policies / procedures and adherence to corporate policies, project contract financial fee and budget information in conjunction with Marketing and Project Management, and establishment and/or maintenance of quality control processes and procedures. The Office Principal will be required to lead and manage teams on projects.

A strong understanding of the environmental, planning, engineering design, construction management business is required. Technical areas of knowledge include transportation, water, resources, power/energy, building engineering, architecture, and federal.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related fieldMaintains a professional or Engineering registration and has extensive related technical management experienceOutstanding leadership, communication and team-building skillsExperienced in management and development of diverse teamsWork cooperatively with company operations managers, business group and technical directors and marketing managers on departmental effortsCommitted to quality, improvement and promoting HDR valuesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

MS in Civil Engineering is preferredA minimum of 15 years of program management, office management, or related experience is preferred.Work experience and strong relationships in the San Diego area is strongly preferredLocal candidates are preferred
