Summary About the Position: This position is located at Lower Monumental Dam, Kahlotus, WA, operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and situated on the Lower Snake River near the rural community of Kahlotus, WA. Responsibilities Use personal computer, word processing software, and printing hardware to finalize correspondence, technical reports, and other related documentation from rough, handwritten drafts or rough drafts retrieved from the local area network (LAN). Operate microcomputer to electronically store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documents, developing appropriate formats, letters, form letters, standard paragraphs, and mailing lists. Use advanced computer applications including Microsoft Access and Excel to develop databases and spreadsheets to compile project reports for use by management both locally and at higher headquarters. Utilize PowerPoint and other graphics programs to develop supporting materials for presentations. Post timekeeping records insuring hours worked and absences are recorded in accordance with existing regulations and that charges to various cost accounts are appropriate and accurate. Perform receptionist duties for public visitation and internal customers including greeting visitors and answering telephones. Assist with a wide variety of personnel management issues and perform a variety of administrative tasks relating to the operation and maintenance of a multi-purpose hydroelectric project. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 06 grade level in the Federal service which includes work performing a variety of administrative support functions, experience in personnel actions, employee benefits assistance, and experience using automated financial management systems. OR Education: Successful completion one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management, English, or Accounting. OR Combination Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, to compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
