Office Support Clerk

Olsten Staffing is seeking a detail oriented and organized individual for one of our clients in the Marion, SC Area in their search for a Office Support Clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Tax Assessor's Office, assisting with property records, customer inquiries, and general office tasks. This position ensures accurate data entry, maintains files, and provides excellent customer service to the public regarding tax assessments and property records.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Assist the public in person, by phone, and via email with inquiries related to property assessments, tax records, and general office procedures.
+ Process property assessment applications, exemptions, and other related documents.
+ Maintain and update property records and databases with accurate information.
+ Perform data entry, filing, and scanning of documents.
+ Prepare and distribute notices, letters, and reports as required.
+ Collect and process payments for services when necessary.
+ Assist with the preparation of reports for the Tax Assessor and other departments.
+ Research and verify ownership records, property values, and other relevant data.
+ Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing office supplies.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support office operations.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or GED; additional coursework in office administration or a related field preferred.
+ Prior experience in a clerical, administrative, or customer service role, preferably in a government office or tax-related field.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
+ Knowledge of local tax laws, property assessments, or real estate terminology is a plus.
+ Must have a Valid South Carolina Driver's License
**Work Environment:**
+ Office setting with frequent interaction with the public.
+ May require prolonged periods of sitting and use of computer equipment.
+ Occasional lifting of files or office supplies (up to 25 lbs).

**Pay Details:** $12.50 per hour
