POSITION SUMMARY:
Officer, Occupational Health assists the Manager, Occupational Health in spearheading the promotion and protection of health in the Company workplace and business.
Furthermore, the position also ensures that the Company is compliant with laws and government regulations and standards on Occupational Health.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Co-manages and oversees the operations of the Company’s medical clinic, which primarily provides first aid and emergency medical services to employees and guests, by ensuring that (i) medical cases are addressed properly and in a timely manner (ii) medicines and medical supplies are always available (iii) medical equipment in the clinic are in working condition at all times (iv) clinic is adequately staffed and (v) medical staff provide good customer service to patients Ensures that the Company is compliant with laws and government regulations and standards on Occupational Health by managing or performing activities and tasks such as but not limited to (i) ensuring that the government mandated programs are implemented in the Company (ii) keeping oneself updated and with new laws and government regulations (iii) complying with the reportorial requirements of government units and agencies and (iv) liaising and coordinating with representatives of government units and agencies to obtain information or to implement ongoing new government regulations and standards. Actively participates in the activities and programs of the Occupational Safety and Health committee as a member. Implements Company’s Occupational Health related policies, standards, processes, and procedures. Engages health institutions, health service providers and other similar 3rd parties whenever their health services are needed by the Company. Furthermore, manage performance of the parties that the Company engages. Assists in the timely and proper end-to-end implementation of the Company’s pre-employment and reoccurring employment medical exams. Assists in identifying potential, imminent and present health risks in the Company’s workplace and place of business. Through collaboration with the appropriate resource people in the Company such as the health and safety officers of other departments; comes up and implements corrective and preventive measures to address potential, imminent and present health risks in the Company’s workplace and place of business.Supports programs to promote health and wellness culture.Analyzes illnesses and medical conditions suffered by employees and guests, and implement programs to address them.Co-evaluates and reviews effectiveness of the Company’s health programs. If needed and applicable, provides first aid during emergencies, conducts medical consultations and treat or recommend treatment for minor illnesses.If needed and applicable, issues or reviews fit-to-work medical certificates of employees returning from sickness.Prepares regular and adhoc internal repots on Occupational HealthPerforms other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
At least one (1) year experience as a health professional preferably in the field of occupational health and/or occupational safety.Education
Nursing or any other degree on health and/or safety Completed Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) TrainingCompleted First Aid training conducted by Philippine Red Cross and/or American Heart AssociationSkills / Competencies
Knowledgeable on laws and government regulations related to Occupational Health Project management, events management and program managementStrong interpersonal and collaborative skillsGood leadership and people management skillsGood presentation skillsStrong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated the ability to deal with highly personal and confidential information.Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.
