Summary Provides innovative leadership to maximize the entity's contribution to overall corporation performance through effective planning as well as human and financial goals of the corporation. Responsible for the coordination of the hospital formal budget as well as other financial programs. Plans, coordinates, and directs the activities of Accounting, Business Office, Information Systems, Admissions, and Materials Management Departments. The CFO also acts as the Security Officer and is responsible for HIPAA education and training. Responsibilities Coordinates the hospital formal budget program to ensure a timely and smooth budget process which focuses on the hospital and system mission and goals, such as lower cost and higher quality. Performs daily, weekly, monthly, and annual analyses and reviews using generally accepted accounting principles to verify that the activities of the accounting department are being recorded correctly and are being communicated with other departments. Directs overall operational and financial management through assessment of entity's operations and interaction with staff and customers to enhance efficiency and quality of service. Assists in the production of financial statements and reports using the necessary accounting skills and knowledge to produce accurate results. Perform related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed. Provides ongoing education and training to hospital staff related to HIPAA legislation. Requirements, Preferences and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 3 - 5 years accounting experience with 1 - 3 years supervisory experience required. 2 - years experience in a hospital or governmental accounting environment. Proficient in the use of personal computers preferred.
