Summary The Secret Service is seeking persons who retired from the CSRS or the FERS to support our integrated mission and immediately impart their knowledge and experience to the current workforce. The Officer's mission is to protect facilities and venues secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees. During the course of working in the Uniformed Division, Officers (Uniformed Division) carry out critical investigations and protection assignments. Duties include: Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area, and other USSS protected locations. Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, foreign heads of state/government missions, and other USSS protectees. Conducting surveillance, counter surveillance, and providing vehicle security throughout the United States. Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A. Dual Compensation Off-Set Waiver For Officer (Uniformed Division) Approved For Rehires Work Full-Time Maximum age limit (under 60 at the time of appointment) Hired with the OPM approved salary off-set waiver granted to the Secret Service, annuitants can earn their full salary and their full annuity without penalty. Receive Overtime Earn Annual Leave and Sick Leave Annuitants receiving a dual comp waiver are not eligible to contribute to TSP or make contributions to retirement. This position is a term non-status appointment in the competitive service for retired federal employees that may not exceed four (4) years. The current OPM Dual Comp Waiver expires December 31, 2028. If is not renewed, individuals appointed before December 31, 2028, may continue until their not-to-exceed date is reached with their salaries offset. Qualifications You qualify for the LE-01 grade level (base salary $55,157) if you meet the following requirements: You must demonstrate at least one (1) year of the defined specialized experience performing duties such as: covering designated security post to limit access to protected areas; standing fixed posts or patrols assigned areas on foot or by motor vehicle; and preparing reports of unusual incidents occurring on post.
