Airswift has been Tasked to find an Offshore Coating Superintendent -onboard Pipelay Vessel to work for one of our major costumers based in Angola.
Starting date: ASAP Duration: 4 months renewable Location: Angola - offshore Rhythm: 4-week rotational missions (Day shift)
Activities: Demonstrate exemplary behavior regarding HSE, respect Project HSE requirements, and ensure the application of HSE rules. Have knowledge of Project Rules and Specifications (CR’s/GS’s/PPS’s), international norms, and standards, and apply them effectively. Supervise and control the SURF Contractor’s/Subcontractor’s offshore activities, ensuring compliance with Project Specifications, Procedures, General Specifications, and international standards, while maintaining safety and quality standards. Review relevant Contractor's and suppliers' ITPs and procedures. Monitor and control implementation of approved plans, Surveillance plans, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Conduct daily inspections and ensure work is inspected by the contractor’s QC team. Ensure material certifications and calibration equipment documentation are up to date. Address and report any anomalies or non-conformities. Enforce contractual commitments and technical plans, ensuring safe execution of activities according to design and codes. Supervise night shift coating superintendents. Ensure anomaly tracking, corrective actions, and implementation of mitigation plans. Provide technical support, propose solutions to discipline issues, and ensure supervision of daily coating activities. Submit regular activity reports, provide input for daily reports, and ensure confidentiality of documentation. Accountabilities:
The job holder ensures compliance with contractual and technical requirements related to coating activities. This includes following up and supervising contractor activities, addressing non-conformances, ensuring QA/QC requirements are met, and maintaining HSE standards. The job holder reports to the Offshore Company Representative and provides support to the SURF team.
As main activities, the job holder will: Review the coating specifications, procedures and inspection test plans; Participate in the daily progress meeting and report on his activity pertaining to coating works offshore; Review the fabrication drawings; Attend / witness Inspections; Supervision of nightshift coating superintendents; Control deliverables issued by CONTRACTOR, in his discipline and Report Discrepancies/ Delay/ Changes to Offshore COMPANY Rep on dedicated vessel and submit if necessary corrective action plans as required for good execution of the activities he is responsible for; Liaise with other disciplines; Provide input to daily reports; Anticipate problems in his discipline and propose solution(s) or optimisation(s)
Context and Environment:
The PBF division manages brownfield projects involving offshore execution in SIMOPS on live FPSOs and congested seabeds, increasing risks and challenges. Activities include EPCI contracts, onshore prefabrication, and offshore installation.
Qualifications/Experience Required: Professional Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience. Experience in Similar Position: More than 5 years, including project supervision for SURF painting/coating activities. Experience in a recent deep-water project is expected. Certifications: Level 2 minimum coating inspection certification (e.g., NACE, ICCOR, BGAS, Frosio, SSPC). Education: Engineer or equivalent. Languages: English (mandatory). HSE Certifications: BOSIET, HUET.
