Offshore IT Specialist
The Offshore IT Specialist governs IT Infrastructure across multiple offshore installations or locations and manages offshore related infrastructure. This role is responsible for the overall Offshore IT delivery to these locations. This includes ensuring minimal downtime, maximum performance and handling any changes to ensure that they are aligned with the IT strategy and IT standards. Ensures Compliance with all Offshore IT governance standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stakeholder Management

The IT Offshore Specialist is responsible for facilitating the design, configuration and documentation of Offshore Networks and understanding overall infrastructure of rig-based systems.   Acts as a primary point of escalation for Rig Personnel Team while on board holding primary responsibility as the IT Contact for 6-7 offshore rigs. Works directly with IT Offshore Lead and Manager on prioritizing teams rig visits for entire team. Providing IT guidance to offshore crew members while also assisting client and 3rd party company interactions. Preparing and updating technical documentation (e.g., LAN diagrams, IT equipment arrangement, manuals) Configuring and installing IT equipment in temporary offices (shore bases). Providing technical assistance to users and documenting office setup. Coordinating with supply chain team for IT equipment procurement and delivery. Installation of routers, routers, switches, firewalls, and access points on the rigs. Facilitating in rig mobilization and demobilization activities. Audit and inventory of rig-based equipment to help keep accurate account of spare hardware.  Responsible for delivering IT Offshore reporting for assigned offshore rigs and remote offices. Assess all change management impacting Offshore IT, and interface with IT management and Offshore IT stakeholders. Continual improvements of all Noble IT services (e.g., self-help, hardware ordering, support tools, etc.) Ensure that emergency rooms, meeting rooms and Offshore IT offices are safe, clean, and presentable and that equipment is frequency tested and working. Collaborating with ISPs to troubleshoot and maintain internet connectivity.  

Operations and information system design, architecture and administration 

Maintain standards and governance for Offshore IT infrastructure, telecommunications, network architecture, servers, desktops, printers, audio visual equipment, etc. with IT Enterprise Architects and IT management. Maintain the standards and templates for the consistent deployment and management of these Offshore IT services.  Serve as a liaison for the Offshore IT locations for service incidents, escalations, and strategic projects, Strongly contribute to execution and management of service life cycle including: Policies/SLA negotiation and adherence Establishment of metrics Reporting Continuous improvement Facilitate the design, documentation, and execution of periodic (planned and unplanned) IT equipment maintenance routines. Assist with the periodic audits for Sarbanes Oxley and security by providing documentation, data and explanation of policies and processes for analysis by security and audit teams. Assist with disaster recovery testing and design. Assist with annual expense and capital budget requests as they relate to the Noble IT assets for the locations of responsibility. 

Break-Fix 

Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management Driver. Manage, forecast, and analyze production requests/ issues. Manage the resolution with business relevant solutions. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other IT related field. 10-15 years of experience in IT Support with specific knowledge in the following: Server Support (Hardware, Windows Server 2016/ 2019, Linux, Ubuntu) Server Virtualization and Hyperconverged Architecture (Nutanix, VMWare, HyperV) Desktop Support (Windows 10, Windows 11). Mobile Device Management LANs, WANs, and WLANs Knowledge of Network concepts Routing & Switching Base Understanding of Firewalls ServiceNow experience. Active Directory, Azure AD, AD Connect, LDAP. Project Management experience. Strong foundational knowledge of overall infrastructure functionality and design concepts including servers, storage, and telecommunications systems. Proven ability to translate business requirements into appropriate technological design, producing scalable and resilient infrastructure architecture. Ability to work effectively across and within diverse teams. Excellent facilitation, verbal and written (formal and technical) communication skills with a good command of the English language.  Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts and ideas to senior IT and business management and end users. Strong execution skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure to deliver quality results within standards and meet deadlines. Strong customer service skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills with an attention to detail. Travel is an essential job function (approximately 35%, domestic, international, & offshore). Ability to work overtime and on-call as required. Fit for offshore work, checked by periodic international medical assessments.
