Job PurposeRES currently provides High Voltage Operations and Maintenance (HV O&M) Services to renewable energy assets in the UK & Ireland. Due to increased demand from our clients, we are seeking an Offshore HV Senior Authorised Person (132kV) upwards to grow and improve this service.RES provides OFTO O&M to a number of sites around the UK where we are required to provide full Safety from the System services and either delivery or delivery management of a full O&M serviceRES has a strong pipeline of works and projects with EA3 currently being mobilised to supply Safety from the System for a 95 turbine project with two 400KV DC converter stations delivering around 1.2GW Key AccountabilitiesThe responsibilities of the HV SAP’s include: Always adherence to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standardsAchieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.Become fully conversant and make sure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the RES Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions, this will include but is not limited to:Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documentsCarrying out switching, isolation and earthing dutiesActing as Control EngineerPreparing switching schedulesManaging the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO/NGT as requiredProducing and reviewing method statements and risk assessmentsProducing maintenance plans for HV equipmentMaintaining the asset registerManagement and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipmentProducing final reportsCarry out basic protection testing on HV related equipment. Complex protection relay testing is desirable.Undertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment.Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training.Keeping in close communication with HV Control and Project Lead SAPLiaising with external stakeholders such as DNO/NGT and asset ownerReacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstancesOther duties commensurate with the roleKnowledgeEssential:HV Safe Systems of WorkKnowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenanceDetailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rulesDetailed knowledge of HV equipmentHV maintenance practices including HSG230Knowledge of Working offshoreDesirable:Earthing system installation and test.
