The Opportunity
To support our continued ambitious growth in Energy, we have a new opportunity for Offshore Wind Leader (Asia) to join in either Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul or Tokyo, a vibrant team of engineers offering engineering design for a full range of power generation technologies including the harnessing of wind, hydro, wave, tidal, geothermal, solar and biomass.
Since 2001, Arup has provided engineering, design, business advisory, program management services on more than 50 offshore wind projects from pre-bid to commercial operation phases. Arup has the skills and experience to be a trusted delivery partner across an offshore wind project’s lifecycle. Our team combines a blend of technical, commercial and advisory skills including structural, geotechnical and civil engineering capabilities, ports and maritime expertise, technical due diligence, program and project management, owner’s engineering, power systems engineering, and risk management consulting.
As the Offshore Wind Leader in East Asia, you will be responsible for :
Leading and developing a team of specialist offshore wind designers by drawing upon their knowledge of the international design standards. Development and support of structural teams across our offices in Asia to establish independent design centres of excellence for offshore floating structures and wind foundations including monopiles or jackets. Support to the energy advisory teams in the assessment of offshore wind farm projects. Work together with our existing clients to promote our offshore wind business service offering. Support the further development and enhancement of in-house digital design tools to provide efficient and cost effective bespoke foundation solutions for wind farm foundations.

Is this role right for you?
Bachelor degree or higher in relevance to offshore wind engineering fields, such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering Minimum 15 years’ professional consulting experience in marine and offshore energy infrastructure preliminary design and detailed design services Experience as a hands-on project director leading multi-million-dollar fee engineering, advisory, or consulting professional services in the energy sector with demonstrated successful financial, technical, and relationship outcomes Experience developing teams to deliver the work that is won because of the business development efforts Sound understanding of commercial and financial issues in the winning and execution of professional services commissions. Proven experience in offshore wind design services as an Owner’s Engineer, Technical Advisor, EPC designer Fluent English skills (for other locations the local native language is preferred but not necessary)
