Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC) and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) are seeking a General Urologist to join three other urologists in our existing practice at HMC. This position will serve as an OHSU Clinical Associate, providing clinical care within the HMC Urology Clinic located in Hillsboro, Oregon. OHSU Clinical Associates are fully embedded physician and advanced practice providers who devote the majority of their time to patient care. The appointee shall provide services in the Department of Urology assigned to Hillsboro Medical Center in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the background, focus, and drive to excel, as well as the ability to provide excellent clinical care to patients in a small community setting. Candidates will be trained and experienced in management of patients with urologic conditions to include utilization of minimally invasive, robotic and open surgical techniques. This position offers a unique opportunity to pursue the comforts and quality of life in a small-town community practice with an affiliation to the states only academic medical center.
All assignments are made by the Chair in furtherance of the University’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Clinical: Practice will include general urology patient care at Hillsboro Medical Center. Primary clinical responsibilities will include general urologic care in ambulatory, surgical, and inpatient settings as well as emergency and inpatient call coverage. Outstanding level of professional performance expected (e.g. quality of clinical care for clinical faculty). Professional performance is delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulation and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (i.e. DNV, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, OHSU IRB, NIH and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory guidelines.) Treats all patients, research subjects, trainees and co-workers with dignity and respect.
Education: OHSU is a teaching facility and while you will not have direct responsibilities teaching medical students and residents in the clinical setting there may be occasional opportunities to give lectures during the course of the year and participate in resident conferences. Opportunities for medical student, resident, or fellow education may be future possibilities.
Research: There may be opportunities to collaborate with other department faculty on research projects that may be of interest, although such activities are not expected of Clinical Associates and are voluntary.
Required QualificationsDoctorate in medicine, and postdoctoral training; Satisfactory record of accomplishment in ALL of the following categories: teaching, scholarship and service.
Current license and certification with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners, Board Eligible/Board Certified by the American Board of Urology, Drug Enforcement Association certification, and CPR/PALS certification required.
