We are looking for an experienced reporter to cover the crude oil trade in Singapore, Asia's oil-trading hub. As part of a global team tracking the world's most-traded commodity, you will focus on Asia Pacific and the Middle East. You will be expected to juggle fast-changing markets with coverage of trade flows and industry trends, while delving into deeper investigations into the mechanics of the trade, the impact of sanctions and the energy transition. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include keeping track of physical crude markets, jumping on big economic trends and geopolitical developments.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, with a passion for oil markets and global politics, an eye for stories no one else is telling and a demonstrated ability to connect the dots. A good network is vital, as is a proactive and energetic approach to covering a fast-moving beat. The ability and willingness to collaborate across borders to tell the Asian story for a global audience is essential.

You'll need to have:
At least 5 years of experience in financial journalismExperience working at a real-time news service Experience reporting on oil markets The ability to write fast, compelling and accurate stories in English, often under time pressure Proficiency in both spoken and written English Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
