The Health & Life Sciences Practice

The Program

This is 2-day immersive program for Life Sciences Advanced Degree Candidates designed to provide participants with an in-depth view of life sciences strategy consulting at Oliver Wyman.

Top candidates will receive full-time offers for our Senior Consultant role. Earliest available start date is September 2026.

The Senior Consultant Role

PhDs, MDs, and PharmDs play an integral client-facing or work-stream leadership role. The position offers excellent career and growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals. We are seeking candidates for the Consultant Level. Initial responsibilities could include:Managing the execution of individual project modules; developing hypotheses, model creation and analyses, conducting primary and secondary research, and surfacing insightsAnalytics and Problem Solving: Conduct client interviews related to data and process design to solve business problems, construct and lead data collection and analysis, produce client-ready deliverablesClient Relationship Management: Independently lead client interviews, run well organized meetings, act as the direct point of contact with client, effectively obtain feedback and address concernsSupporting our Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high-quality project executionOwning and developing executive client relationships and presenting to a wide range of audiencesManagement of junior team; effectively providing leverage for the senior project staffProfessional Acumen: Demonstrate Oliver Wyman’s core values, high self-awareness, and effective communication skills
 

Desired Skills and Experience


Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required, PhD, MD, or PharmD degree (have completed by June 2026) in biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or other related life sciences field requiredStrong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to apply depth of content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution, and to develop new intellectual capital to support business development activitiesOutstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executivesWillingness to travelFull-time start dates will range from September 2026 to January 2027.
