JOB SUMMARY
The Planning and Scheduling Manager at Ohserase Manufacturing LLC is responsible for developing and managing production schedules, coordinating purchasing and inventory resources, and ensuring that production goals are met on time and within budget. This role involves optimizing workflows, improving productivity, and meeting customer demand by collaborating with production, procurement, and logistics teams. The Planning and Scheduling Manager will also oversee the production floor supervisor and raw material warehouse associate. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required to ensure operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Scheduling & Resource Coordination (40%)
+ Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization.
+ Ensure schedules are realistic, considering equipment capacity, labor availability, and material needs.
+ Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, finished goods, and workforce.
+ Maintain a balance between available resources and production requirements to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
Capacity Planning & Process Optimization (25%)
+ Analyze production capacity and develop strategies to address short-term and long-term constraints.
+ Ensure production output aligns with forecasted demand and company goals.
+ Continuously assess and improve scheduling and planning processes to minimize production downtime and maximize efficiency.
+ Identify and implement best practices to enhance workflow and overall production performance.
Monitoring, Reporting, & Communication (20%)
+ Track and report on production progress, delays, and deviations from the plan.
+ Provide regular updates to senior management regarding production schedules, risks, and issues.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact between different departments to ensure smooth execution of production schedules and alignment of objectives.
+ Relay critical information to all relevant stakeholders and ensure complete follow-up on outstanding issues.
Troubleshooting & Forecasting (15%)
+ Identify bottlenecks and resolve production scheduling issues.
+ Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate unforeseen circumstances or changes in demand.
+ Work closely with the sales and inventory teams to forecast demand and adjust production plans accordingly.
+ Support the company’s long-term planning and strategy development by aligning production capabilities with business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
+ Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly preferred.
+ Strong understanding of production processes and scheduling software (e.g., ERP systems, SAP, MS Project Suite).
+ Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
+ Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
PHYSCAL REEQUIREMENTS
+ Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods while managing schedules and communicating with internal teams.
+ Occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting when interacting with production areas.
+ Strong visual and analytical focus for reviewing reports, schedules, and data analysis.
+ Ability to travel between departments or facilities as needed to coordinate scheduling activities.
+ Fine motor skills to operate computer systems, scheduling software, and data entry.
+ Ability to participate in and assist in creating a safety-focused culture, ensuring adherence to best practices.
