OMFS Surgeon - Maxillofacial Oncology Faculty
Job Details

Christiana Care Health System is one of the nation's largest teaching institutions and a major tertiary-care health system. Christiana Care is a regional referral center for Delaware and surrounding states, as well as a major provider of primary medical and dental care for local residents. The health system is also Delaware's only Level I trauma center. 

The institution offers a fully accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program, which is at the forefront of the specialty in education, research and surgical technique.  Our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program and the residents, benefit in that Christiana Care Residency Programs are not offered in otorhinolaryngology or plastic surgery, affording them the unique opportunity to gain experience in all areas of head and neck surgery without jurisdictional issues.

Our strengths are in our teaching, via simulation and state-of-the-art techniques in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and in our vast and varied clinical exposure to patients. We are dedicated to patient safety and compassionate care in the treatment of diseases, defects and injuries of the head and neck as we are a regional destination referral center.

We presently seek an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, committed to an academic career, to join a remarkable team focused on excellence in patient care and residency education. This faculty role will require scholarly activity, teaching, and full-scope surgical practice. Also, a faculty practice exists for Attending-level patient care and education.

To be considered, qualifications must include:
• Successful graduation from a CODA-accredited Dental School with a DMD or DDS degree
• Successful completion of a CODA-accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program

• Fellowship training in head and neck oncology

• Board Certification (or active pursuit of certification) by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
 

Other qualifications of interest, though not required, include:

• Research experience

• Advanced education (MD, DO, MPH, MBA, PhD)
