This Executive, OMS - MMC Projects & Services position is within the Westinghouse (WEC) Generation Support Services (GSS) business line and reports to the EVP of GSS. It has overall responsibility for the Westinghouse Maintenance, Modification, and Construction (MMC) product line as well as all Projects associated with the GSS business. Services include, but are not limited to, Scaffolding, Insulation, Asbestos and Lead Abatement, General Laborer Services, Heat Exchanger and Condenser repair and maintenance, Full Turbine Services, Piping Systems repair, replacement, maintenance to include mechanical fasteners and welding, Electrical System maintenance, repair, and replacement to include installation and removal of temporary electrical services, Major Component maintenance, repair, and replacement, and Major Project preparation and execution.

 

Your Day to Day:

WEC Core Values and Standards Set and reinforce standards and expectations for the organization that exemplify the core values and standards of WEC and the industry by providing leadership and direction to WEC site Directors, management, and staff.  Ensure that the implementation and enforcement of the WEC Safety Program is consistent the product line, and that the WEC Directors, Site Managers/Project Manager[s] and staff are held accountable for the ownership and implementation of the program. Ensures that the WEC Directors and Site Leadership Team[s] demonstrate, adhere to, and uphold WEC Core Values. Ensures that WEC processes and procedures are followed and holds WEC Directors and site leadership team[s] accountable for using these processes to effectively manage the implementation of the contract and the completion of work. Ensures that the WEC Directors and site leadership teams effectively execute all work in a safe and productive manner, in accordance with the quality standards of both the customer and WEC. Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and provides leadership for implementation of the WEC safety program throughout their product line. Ensures that the Director[s] has a clear understanding of contract goals, strategies, methods, and that roles and responsibilities are well understood and demonstrated. Contract Oversight Responsible to fully understand all contract requirements, obligations, and commitments to fairly implement the business and protect WEC interests. Responsible for the direction of the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] in the oversight and administration of the WEC contract with the Client Oversee the performance monitoring structure and reporting for the assigned contract[s], including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and KPIs that give insight into performance and trends.  Provides oversight in the effective project and contract management governance, procedures, tools, and financial controls ensuring they are established and maintained for the business line.  Holds the Directors[s] / Project Manager[s] responsible for the review of all Sub-contracts, including those from other WEC business units, and sub-contractor estimates. Outage and Project Readiness Holds the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] responsible for ensuring that the WEC Site Leadership Teams meet all WEC outage / Project preparation matrix milestones and Site outage / Project preparation milestones for activities throughout the business line.  Provides oversight to the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] to ensure that all necessary planning and project controls tools/elements are in place, meet WEC standards/expectations, and are being implemented to support outage and project execution. Ensures adequate organizational resources are prioritized and deployed to support business line efforts. Holds the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] responsible to ensure that outage readiness assessments are scheduled for each outage, teams are assigned for WEC T-6, T-3, and T-1 outage readiness assessments, and coordinates the T-1 Executive Challenge and the Pre-Outage Kick-off presentation. Determines the requires project assessment requirements based on complexity. Ensures the WEC Risk Identification and Mitigation process is used during outage, project, and on-line work planning and preparation process, and during implementation. Responsible for ensuring that the site Director[s] / Project Manager[s] are utilizing the WEC Playbook and all applicable tools. Accountable to ensure that lessons learned and process improvements from previous WEC experiences/outages are reviewed, and applicable corrective actions are implemented. Continuous Improvement Supports the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] with the development and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities, communicating these opportunities for best practice and lessons learned across the organization, and looking for opportunities to add value to WEC and our clients. Responsible for capturing and sharing internal and external industry knowledge and best practices. Oversees the performance monitoring structure and reporting for the business line contract[s], including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and KPIs that give insight into performance. Oversees the effective implementation of a corrective action and assessment process for business line. Participates in WEC wide performance improvement initiatives, including outage readiness assessments at other WEC locations. Acts as primary interface with other WEC organizations senior leadership when support is required, or changes are needed to ensure quality and efficient operations are maintained, intervening when necessary to address deficiencies.  Is the site Executive[s] primary point of contact for all WEC process improvements, innovations, site services, and operating experience. Financial Oversight Responsible to oversee/train the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] to monitor and analyze financial performance of the assigned sites, ensuring the site leadership teams understand the financial goals and have strategies in place to meet those goals. Responsible for all business line non-billable charges regardless of the source. Responsible for the P&L (Profit and Loss) for his/her business line. Understands how the business works including drivers of cost, revenue, and profit. Understands key financial measurements to analyze the business and ensures financial reporting requirements are met. Responsible for the business line financial forecasting and initial annual budget estimates. Oversees the estimating process and ensures the accuracy of the estimates related to the contract(s) / project(s) supported. Responsible for estimate reviews (including facilitating corporate reviews when required by WEC procedure/policy), budget, and profitability on all assigned contracts. Develops strategies and actions to correct financial performance across the business line when needed. Responsible for ensuring that the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] review and approve all assigned site PO/Releases ensuring they are accurate, in alignment with the associated estimate, and IAW the applicable contract. Ensures that the WEC Impact/Change Order process is adhered to in a manner consistent with the contract and protects WEC commercial interests. This includes ensuring that the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] review the Impact/Change Order Log as least monthly to ensure site compliance. Team Building Manages performance of the WEC business line, holds Site Director[s] / Project Manager[s] accountable for results and ensuring they address employee relations issues in a timely manner. Responsible to ensure team chemistry and engagement of business line teams are maintained at a high functioning level. Recognizes talent and provides opportunity for personal development across the broader WEC organization. Holds the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] accountable for ensuring the Good Catches and Golden Recognition processes are implemented across the business line. Holds the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] accountable for encouraging craft engagement in identifying issues and ensuring site leadership team[s] is responsive to craft identified issues. Holds the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] accountable for Ensuring WEC staff and craft accountability processes are effectively managed by the site managers/project managers, working with the WEC Human Resources when needed or required by process.  Responsible for ensuring that WEC works as a unified team (across his/her business line) and is represented as a unified team to the client. Customer Relationships Responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic customer relationships with client’s corporate and site executive management teams.  Maintains a pulse on customer needs and how WEC can support them, keeping in mind all services provided by WEC. Able to identify business development activities that support long-range business line planning and resource management, influences customer buying patterns, and increase sales revenue growth. Develops the customer as a strategic business partner with the ability to identify opportunities for value add and continuous improvement. Maintains alignment with, and provides input to, WEC Business Development (account Manager) on key client strategies. Labor Ensures relationships with local labor officials are being managed effectively through the WEC Director[s] / Project Manager[s]. Ensures the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] are maintaining relationships with local labor through the tri-partite process. Supports the Director[s] / Project Manager[s], when needed, in the Coordination with WEC Director of Labor on union labor related issues and initiatives.  Ensures that the WEC Director[s] / Project Manager[s] is familiar with, and accountable to, the applicable labor agreement (GPPMA/NMA/Local). For non-union sites, holds the Director[s] / Project Manager[s] accountable to: Ensure a process is in place for reviewing worker resumes in a timely and accurate fashion. Ensure that the WEC Milestones are adjusted, based on experience, to ensure sufficient recruiting time. Ensure that the site requirements for validation of qualifications and experience is understood and adhered to by the WEC Site Team.

Who You Are:

Applicant must possess a degree plus a minimum of 5 years of Maintenance and/or Construction Management experience, or 15+ years of Maintenance and/or Construction Management experience.  Highly proficient in Word, Excel, P6, and PowerPoint computer platforms. Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, team building and financial acumen skills. This position works remote and may require up to 50% travel time.
