Overview The Houston Marriott Westchase Hotel is looking to hire an On-Call Bellperson/Shuttle Van Driver. Position Summary: The Bell person provides exceptional service to guests upon arrival and departure by assisting with luggage, offering information about hotel amenities and local attractions, and ensuring a positive first impression. This role also involves driving the hotel shuttle to transport guests to and from local destinations, contributing to a seamless guest experience through attentive and courteous service. Scheduling: This is an On-Call/Part-Time position that requires open availability to work various days, including weekends and holidays, both AM and PM shifts. Shifts are scheduled as needed to support operational demands. Specifically, the Bellperson/Shuttle driver role will be responsible for, but not limited to; Greeting guests upon arrival with a warm and welcoming demeanor, offering luggage cart, assisting with loading of luggage and check-in procedures. Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel amenities and services along the way. Assist with loading and unloading luggage from vehicles, ensuring the safe handling of guest belongings, and answering guest questions. Provide information about hotel facilities and services, local attractions, dining options, and current events to enhance the guest experience. Manage deliveries, informing guests of packages and assisting with luggage storage. Assist with special events and group arrivals as needed. Drive the hotel shuttle van to transport guests to and from local destinations, following designated routes and strictly adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby, bell stand area, and hotel vehicles. This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews. Qualifications Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and written. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions based on guest needs and hotel policies in a fast-paced environment, and respond with a sense of urgency when needed. Move heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs.) in and out of vehicles repeatedly for duration of shift. Ability to move carts weighing between 100 and 150 lbs, throughout hotel, both inside and out. Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of shift. Frequent extending arms: reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, stooping, and ascending stairs throughout shift. Able to work outside at varying noise levels and being exposed to winter/summer temperature extremes when assisting guests or driving the shuttle. Able to stay alert and quickly identify and respond to safety concerns and emergency situations. Professional Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license with at least 3 years' driving experience and a clean driving record is required. Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred. Previous experience in the position of guest services or similar customer service role is required. Grooming/Uniforms: All employees must maintain a professional, neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
