THE JOB:  

As an On-Call Union Host Person for Orla at Mandalay Bay, you are an essential part of guest experience. Your approachable, and personable demeanor, coupled with your dedication to provide delightful dining experiences for guests will set the stage for the memories that they can carry with them well past their stay with us. In a collaboration of team efforts, you will deliver prompt service that sets the tone for unforgettable moments and ensure the seamless operation of Orla. By delivering top-notch guest experiences alongside maintaining a pristine environment, you play a crucial role in elevating the overall guest experience.

STARTING PAY:  $20.892

SCHEDULE:  On-Call

Sunday to Saturday Hours of Operation:

Kitchen Hours: 4:30pm - 9:30pm

Bar Hours: 4:30pm - 11:00 pm

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Provide a warm welcome to guests upon their arrival

Review reservations and confirm details for larger parties

Communicate with Restaurant Reservations regarding special orders, cake orders, special requests, distribute celebratory cards to guests, and keep leadership informed of stock levels

Frequently check in with guests waiting to be seated, ensure they are aware their presence is acknowledged and that their tables are being prepared

Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in‐house groups, daily house count, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the restaurant

Answer phones, maintain an accurate record of reservations and oversee reservation book

Ensure menus have proper inserts and are current according to the most recent change, and replace all menus in poor condition

Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas; shut down podium and forward phones to voice‐loop at end of shift

Convey all essential information such as the needs of the guests to the kitchen and management, inform management of guest reactions and comments, and assist management as needed to ensure smooth operation and quality service

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

Currently hold, or be able to obtain a TAM Card and Food Handlers Card

Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Prior experience with Open Table and SevenRooms reservation management systems

Prior experience as a host in a similar resort setting

Polished appearance and presentability

Ability to multitask, work effectively in a high-volume setting, maintain composure during stressful or challenging moments, and exhibit flexibility with their schedule

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms

Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately

Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
