On Road Safety Manager
Description Amazon provides world-class support to our delivery service providers, and is looking for a On Road Safety Manager and will be responsible for implementing projects into last Mile and Middle Mile operational teams with critical to protecting lives while minimizing or eliminating any negative impact on delivery associates and Partners. As a On Road Safety Manager, you will be the primary interface between other groups within Amazon Logistics. (Delivery Operation Managers, WHS teams, Business Analyst, Loss Prevention, Legal, fleet and Learning & Training Development) and outside vendors (delivery contractors, Insurance Company and 3P carriers) as they relate to delivery operations to identify, define and specify solutions that create the conditions for Amazon’s delivery Partners’ success and satisfaction. In the role you will be the main support to conduct program implementation, communicate progress to the stakeholders regularly and build collaborative relationships, working closely to identify and resolve defects to create and execute safety change. You will experience a wide range of problem-solving situations, leadership, data collection and analysis, and you will prepare optimal WHS reporting and processes, and provide valuable analysis of reactive and pro-active performance to support year-on-year performance improvement by identifying risks areas where we have to intervene before new incidents occur. Key job responsibilities • Support the growth of On Road Safety business in MX Amazon Logistics. Be responsible for the creation of daily, weekly and monthly metric reports. • Work with Global Business Analysts to refine On Road Safety automated reports to support MX Delivery Operation Teams. • Partner with WHS and Global Road Safety team on standards around reporting and optimization, in order to deploy the best processes across the MX Last Mile/Middle Mile. This includes working with regional safety managers to deliver supportive metrics, reports and processes. • Carry out sensitivity analysis and create decision models for optimal utilization of existing data, to identify risk, manifest opportunities, and prevent the occurrence of similar incidents. • Support MX On Road WHS strategic programs for continuous improvement using Amazon technological solutions. • Work across the MX Last Mile and Middle Mile in a cross-functional environment, and maintain a strong communication process to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information. • Audit record-keeping practices and Global Safety Database (Austin) entries to be aligned with global safety standards and local regulations. • They must have the ability to influence their peers and superiors to achieve results. • A successful On Road Safety Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and WHS data analysis. This position is based in Mexico and some domestic travels will be required. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in safety, environment, engineering, or in a On Road Safety field or equivalent experience. - 2+ years of On Road Safety management experiences in transportation or in logistics with mix of full-time employees and third-party contractors. - +2 Years Experience with Excel (analysis using aggregate functions and pivot tables) or experience using equivalent database. - +2 Years Experience with data mining; develop and implement department goals and strategies for Accident report data accumulation, trend analysis, countermeasure planning in daily to yearly basis. - Fluent Spanish and English - Knowledge in health, and safety Mexican regulation and international standards. Preferred Qualifications - Experience designing and implementing On Road Safety policy, processes and procedural documentation. - Knowledge of management database, experience of Tableau, Quicksight, SQL. Experience of WHS metrics and logistics/warehousing safety management - An in-depth understanding of essential/relevant US OSHA and MX regulations, standards legislation and on-road best practice. Transport and mobility regulations and a motor vehicle driver training program. - Creative and ideas-driven in finding new solutions/ designing innovative methods, systems and processes. - High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy - Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture.
