We’re seeking an IT professional to work with minimal supervision while taking direction as needed as a project site at Idaho National Lab. You will support any and all IT/IS, desktop support for the project site. You will collaborate with local project management to provide IT support and develop requirements for existing and upcoming projects.
Work with existing project IT security policy and procedure to ensure client requirements are being met, draft changes and/or new policy and procedure for review as needed.
Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory
Install, configure, and maintain PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals (such as printers)
Assist employees via TEAMS remote access, phone, or in person
Assist and mentor others as needed
Terminate, test, and troubleshoot voice, video, and data infrastructure
Contribute to the daily workflow of tickets, assisting with the triaging of tickets to the appropriate queues and technicians within the IT ticketing system.
Work through effective resolution of all assigned and self-assigned tickets in coordination with daily IT ticketing activities and projects.
Assist with the successful administration of information systems under the direction of management
Actively participate in the implementation of hardware and software; build, upgrade, patch, and migrating of systems and applications
Contribute, participate, and assist in the planning of customer surge support efforts
Occasional travel to other project sites and Denver for hands-on support as needed.
Coordinate with corporate IT and other project IT professionals as needed.
Maintain necessary training and certifications required by contract.
Observe all safety and security requirements at client and corporate sites.
May include other IT associated tasks not mentioned above.
Ability to pass background and drug testing requirements.

* Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field plus 1 year of relevant experience, or an AS degree in a computer, engineering, or system science discipline from an accredited college or university plus 3 years of relevant experience. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Demonstrated on-the-job experience as a full-service IT support team member in a Windows AD environment. In-depth knowledge of Active Directory Domain Controllers is preferred Ability to be present online and present on-site during work hours Experience working within an IT support team and able to contribute and collaborate in daily support activity Requires knowledge of AV/VTC hardware, software, and network connections and setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment Candidates must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the organization. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and follow through with multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Physical Requirements of Position\: Position will require heavy use of computing systems. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to\: bending, reaching, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. May require travel to other sites. No strenuous physical activity required.
Work Environment\: Generally, an office. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations\: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Limited travel will be required, up to 10% of the time.
Equipment and Machines\: Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work-related tools as required.
Other Essential Functions\: Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management, and co-workers. Must have clear, concise, and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion. Must take and pass a drug test and background check. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
