On Site Service Technician - Level II
**DESCRIPTION** We are looking for a talented **On Site Service Technician** to join our team specializing in **Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics** for our **Service Department** in **Solwezi, Zambia.** **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways** : + Customer Engagement: By engaging customers courteously and professionally, you'll build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met promptly and efficiently. + Efficient Repairs: Using specialized tools and following documented procedures, you'll diagnose and complete less complex repairs, ensuring high-quality service. + Preventative Maintenance: Coaching customer employees on preventative maintenance and basic repairs will help them maintain their equipment better, reducing downtime. + Issue Escalation: By escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors, you'll ensure that complex problems are addressed promptly. + Documentation: Completing required documentation accurately and timely will support warranty claims, quality control, and service tracking. + Continuous Learning: By completing training in line with skill and business requirements, you'll stay updated with the latest techniques and tools, enhancing your effectiveness. + Work Area Maintenance: Keeping your work area and tools clean and in proper operation will ensure a safe and efficient working environment. + Health and Safety Compliance: Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any issues will contribute to a safe workplace for everyone. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **To be successful in this role you will need the following:** + Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans, using specialized tools and software to isolate and resolve issues, and documenting the process for future reference. + Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Knowledge of the necessary hardware and software tools for service events, and the ability to interpret their results to determine the next steps for resolving issues. + Understanding of Engine Systems: Capability to analyze and interpret the interactions of various electrical and mechanical systems, using tools and service publications to diagnose and repair efficiently. + Expertise in Product Repair and Maintenance: Skills in repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products, following guidelines to ensure quality repairs, and performing inspections and replacements to minimize costs and restore products to their pre-failure condition. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education/ Experience** + Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician. + Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution. + Current relevant electrical certification (optional). + Locally valid driving permit. + This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. + Basic level field service work experience. + Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation or engine products. + High Voltage/Low Voltage experience (optional). + Customer service experience. + Valid driver's license, valid passport, and valid EIZ certificate. **Job** Service **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** On-site **Job Type** Technician **ReqID** 2409426 **Relocation Package** No
