**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented **On Site Service Technician** to join our team specializing in **Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics** **Business Area** for our **Jwaneng site** in **Jwaneng, Botswana.**
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways** :
+ Customer Engagement: By engaging customers courteously and professionally, you will build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
+ Efficient Repairs: Using specialized tools and following documented procedures, you will diagnose and complete less complex repairs accurately, minimizing downtime for customers.
+ Preventative Maintenance: Coaching customer employees on preventative maintenance and basic repairs will help them maintain their equipment better, reducing the likelihood of future issues.
+ Issue Escalation: By escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors, you ensure that complex problems are addressed promptly, maintaining customer satisfaction.
+ Documentation: Completing required documentation accurately and timely will ensure proper record-keeping and support warranty claims and quality assurance processes.
+ Continuous Learning: By completing training in line with skill and business requirements, you will stay updated on the latest techniques and tools, enhancing your ability to perform your duties effectively.
+ Work Area Maintenance: Keeping your work area and tools clean and in proper operation will ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
+ Health and Safety Compliance: Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures, and reporting any issues, will help maintain a safe workplace for everyone.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
+ Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans, using specialized tools and software to isolate and resolve issues, and validating repairs to ensure problems are fully addressed.
+ Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Knowledge of the necessary hardware and software tools for service events, and the ability to interpret electronic tool results to determine the next steps for resolving issues.
+ Understanding of Engine Systems: Capability to analyze interactions between various electrical and mechanical systems, using service publications and measurement tools to diagnose and repair efficiently.
+ Expertise in Product Repair and Maintenance: Skills in repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products, following guidelines to ensure quality repairs, and performing progressive damage checks to restore products to their pre-failure condition.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education/ Experience**
+ National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Heavy Plant Mechanics
+ Trade Test C & B Certificates in Heavy Plant Mechanics.
+ Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician (Preferred)
+ Valid Driver's License - SADC
+ 5 Years work experience on Cummins Engines
+ Customer service experience
+ This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
