Job Summary
The Onboarding & Advising Office Assistant serves as a receptionist to students, faculty, staff, and community members, while also performing general office duties to serve the needs of College & Career Navigators (CCNs) and Academic Success Advisors (ASAs). The Onboarding & Advising Office Assistant must provide outstanding customer service, create a welcoming and inclusive environment, maintain confidentiality of student information, and be prepared to respond to situations that may present in the office. The Onboarding & Advising Office Assistant must have a clear understanding of college and department policies and procedures.
General office duties include:
+ Record and respond to voicemail messages in a timely fashion
+ Manage incoming phone call interactions for the Offices of Student Recruitment & Onboarding and Advising & Retention
+ Schedule student appointments with appropriate department staff members (i.e. CCNs or ASAs)
+ Assist with walk-in student traffic and redirecting students to appropriate offices and resources as needed
+ Support with on-campus events that include but are not limited to New Student Convocation, CLC Open House, and Student Resource Fairs
+ Assist with department call campaigns as needed
+ Support students in navigating their student portal, assist with class registration, guide students in setting up payment plans, and filling out the CLC Student Admission Form as needed
+ Other duties as assigned
Required Qualification(s)
+ Must be enrolled for 6 credit hours for the fall semester
+ Strong customer service and communication skills
+ Ability to work effectively in a team setting
+ Ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff including those with disabilities
Desired Qualification(s)
+ Experience performing receptionist duties
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Total Hours per week 15 to 20
Work Schedule
Mondays-Thursdays between the hours of 9am and 6:30pm; Fridays between the hours of 9am and 4pm
Occasional Saturdays, hours may vary depending on office needs
Position runs through the end of the academic year
